God said to me at a point, “Stand up, take your Bible and open it.” While I was not looking for any scripture in particular, I opened my Bible and Acts 22 verse 10 leaped out at me:
And I said, what shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

11th of December, 1983

In my preparation towards the inauguration of the church in Kaduna, I enquired of the Lord the name by which the church was to be known, and the Lord said Living Faith Church. Therefore, at God’s command, on the 11th of December, 1983, the Living Faith Church, Kaduna was born at ES, Ramat Close, Ungwan Rimi. It was our first planted church.

The birth of this Church followed a week-long city wide outreach tagged “Faith and Healing Revival Week” that held on 21st to 28 November, 1983. It is interesting to note that this city- wide outreach attracted an highest attendance of 63 people out of which 23 people were part of the Ilorin fellowship. It should be noted that at that time, the fellowship in Ilorin was recording as many as 250 in attendance. Ironically, each time I went back to Ilorin I only shared the remnant of what I taught in Kaduna.

As time went by, I began to sense a strong pull in my spirit towards Kaduna as I was experiencing a continuous outpouring of revelation each time I stood to minister at the Kaduna church which was not the case in Ilorin. This was what led to the need for my wife and I to go into prayer, in seeking a clear direction from God on whether we should proceed to Kaduna as the new base of the church or settle down in Ilorin.

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. .
--- Acts 22 vs 10

On that glorious morning, as we knelt down praying, God said to me at a point, “Stand up, take your Bible and open it.” While I was not looking for any scripture in particular, I opened my Bible and Acts 22 verse 10 leaped out at me: And I said, what shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

This scripture thundered at me, as it were. Immediately, I could interpret Kaduna as Damascus, where Christ and the church would be persecuted. I saw Kaduna as a city of persecution.
Immediately, I tapped my wife, saying, “Get up, the Lord has spoken!” I showed her the scripture that the Lord had just given me and that was the end of the prayer! That was how the base of the Church moved from Ilorin to Kaduna. This was in June 1984.

Hitherto, I had been sharing the days of the week between those two cities. It was my point of duty to be at Ilorin for the Friday fellowship, and then leave for Kaduna to be at the Sunday service.
